E230. Logic programming, the imperfective paradox and coercion. Fritz
Hamm
- 24 April. 13.15-15. Introduction to Optimality Theory. Benjamin
Lyngfelt
- The seminar will start with a general introduction to
Optimality Theory
(OT). Where we go from there depends to a large extent on the interests
of
the audience. Some possible subtopics are Bidirectional Optimization,
Stochastic OT, and Implementation.

- 13.15-15. Grammatik-baserad och statistisk
taligenkänning; jämförda och kombinerade. Genevieve
Gorrell
- Språkmodellering för
begränsad-domän-taligenkänning
är idag dominerad av 2 approacher. Statistiska språkmodeller
har
föredragits sen länge i den akademiska världen medan
grammatik-baserad
taligenkänning används mest i industrin. Vad finns för
för- och
nackdelar hos de 2 approacherna? Och ska man verkligen välja?
- 15.15-17. In Dialogue with a Desktop Calculator: A Concurrent
Stream Processing Approach to Building Simple Dialogue Systems.
Torbjörn Lager
- Human spontaneous face-to-face conversations are
characterized by phenomena such as turn-taking, feedback, sounds of
hesitation and repairs. Also, ambiguity and the resolution of
ambiguity work in a different way in spoken language. The purpose of
the present paper is to propose a computational framework - Concurrent
Stream Processing - in which modeling of this kind of interaction
becomes simple and natural. The main attraction of this approach is
that two important things come almost for free: incrementality and
modularity. Incrementality makes seamless interaction
possible. Modularity helps us fight the complexity inherent in
building systems like these.
- 5 June. 13.15-15. XP - Extreme Programming. Fredrik Kronlid
