Plenary speakers     The Second Nordic Conference on Multimodal Communication will take place in Göteborg, April 7 - 8, 2005, arranged by the Department of linguistics and SSKKII Center for Cognitive Science, Göteborg University.

The purpose of the conference is to present results and discuss different aspects of multimodal communication research, such as:
- basic research on multimodality in communication
- multimodality in different activity types involving face-to-face interaction
- evolutionary and developmental perspectives
- multimodal interfaces
- dialog systems
- other applications in information and communication technology
- multimodality in communication disorders and communication aids
- multimodality in games and education  

The conference will have plenary lectures by invited researchers, panels on different themes, open sessions for submitted papers and a panel discussion.  

Submission and Fees  

Researchers are invited to submit panels, individual papers and topics for discussion. Conference fee: 650 SEK / 70 EUR (for students 350 SEK / 38 EUR) (includes conference dinner 7/4 and coffee during breaks)

Guidelines for Submission of Abstracts
Length: one A4 page of not more than 500 words, double spacing, 3cm (1.25 inch) margins all round, 12pt. An additional page for data/references may be included, if needed. Abstracts should be submitted electronically to the Multimod Com 2005 Organizing Committee via REGISTRATION FORM If you do not have electronic access, you may send your abstract to:

The abstract should either be pasted into the email or should be an attachment as an ASCII text file, Word, PS or PDF file. Please use the subject header "Multimod Com 2005 Abstracts: Your last name and first name initial". Include all author information, the title of presentation, area, the name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s) and the address, phone number and e-mail address of the primary author in the body of the e-mail. The organizing committee will consider all proposed papers and organize the final program after all abstracts have been received.
